Cannot connect with "Chat With Microsoft" via webpage.

I have an issue with family security - I cannot remember the details I set up three years ago. Website then recommends that I "Chat with Microsoft" - Great! However the page will not allow me to fill in my name (greyed out) but has my MS account email pre-filled.
I have checked my Microsoft account and my name is in there, but does not populate on the support page. Any ideas?

First Name, Last Name and email greyed out in XBox support chat

Unable to put anything in First name, last name fields but email address is filled in but all are greyed out in the xbox support chat window so I am unable to chat with support.

same but its not working for me too microsoft support is *** dumb i was on a chat with them and they don't know *** and i can't even contact xbox support as it wont let me fill out my name to request a chat and even the microsoft dude couldn't even help
me to get a chat with them.

Just to add to this (after helping a few folks out correcting their info), you need to ensure the information on the Billing Info page is completed for the country in question.

Go to Payment & Billing > Billing Info

On that page, choose your country from the drop-down (if you have more that one) then check the First name and Surname are complete, if not edit the profile and fill the info in.

This should bring it through to the Support chat window.

If you're having trouble accessing chat support, please try going to
account.microsoft.com and filling in your billing information on your profile page. This should help propagate the fields on the chat page so you can use chat support. That said, there is no way to bypass the 30 day wait restriction when it comes to changing
account information.

Hey huxley -

If you can't fill in the fields for chat support, double check that you have a proper billing address on file on your >>Microsoft Commerce<< account. You don't have to have a credit card on file but you do need to have address information listed. Once you
do that, you should be able to fill in the name boxes so you can chat with support.
