    My gamer tag changed from | 50M | to M 50 #3253. I need this changed back to | 50M | or preferably Tacosaurus2X

    Can't find anyone who can resolve this issue. I've been a loyal Xbox customer for over a decade. I am now looking into breaking away from xbox for the competition because I am so frustrated with this issue not being resolved.

    I just wanted to change my name and checked availability for M 50 and it added a bunch of number, so I went to change it to Tacosaurus2X and it now wants me to pay. I'd rather cancel everything than pay to resolve this issue.

    Randy's answer is correct, and the Xbox Terms and Conditions apply to everyone, so there is no preferential treatment. It's up to you, where you play your games, but hope you won't take drastic measures because of this situation.

    It's been a fun ride on xbox for over a decade.

    I'll be switching to another console due to the way this issue was addressed for my next gen console. I will advise others to do the same.
    Hope you enjoy your new console, whichever one you choose to purchase. We're all gamers here, so it doesn't matter what console you play on, as long as you enjoy it.

    But it can be resolved. You pay the $9.95 fee for a name change, if you wish it. If you don't want to pay for the name change, you don't have to change your gamertag. The choice is ultimately yours, of course.

    If they're not going to work with me on a mistake I'd rather stop giving them money and move to a different platform.
