Discus and support MyVIP in XBoX Rewards & Social to solve the problem; I know by pre ordering a digital game it does not count towards MyVIP, but would it count when I purchase a game when it releases at 9pm Pacific Time...     I know by pre ordering a digital game it does not count towards MyVIP, but would it count when I purchase a game when it releases at 9pm Pacific Time instead of the actual Tuesday release date?

    Unused VIP gems

    Hello Trademarkman,

    From the FAQ:

    What will happen to my Xbox Live Rewards MyVIP Gems, MyVIP Perks, and MyVIP Vault?



    You’ll have until 31 May 2018 to earn MyVIP Gems and unlock any new MyVIP Perks. You’ll then have until 15 June 2018 to claim any open MyVIP Perks and to redeem any unused MyVIP Gems in your Xbox Live Rewards account for prizes from the MyVIP Vault. After
    this date any unredeemed MyVIP Gems will be converted to Microsoft Rewards points and can be used to redeem rewards from the Microsoft Rewards catalogue once your membership is transitioned. One MyVIP Gem will convert to one Microsoft Rewards point.

    If the game says "buy now" then it is no longer considered a pre-order and should count toward MyVip. A staff member will have to confirm, but usually that is the main indicator. The reason it comes out at 9pm PST is to accommodate nationwide launches and
    not keep the EST up until 3am.

    Wait a minute, so not all purchases count for the MyVIP star rank? So, it was better for me to purchase the game digitally day of rather than pre-ordering because I am not eligible for anything regardless that it's a purchase made with debit card?

    Not necessarily Dark82Knight, the program often has promotions for pre-ordering digital titles during certain time frames and receiving rewards. Often times those rewards are more than you would get for MyVip payback unless you were 5 star and receiving
    the full 10% rebate.

    What is MyVIP and how is it changing?

    As of October 1, 2017, we have expanded our MyVIP offerings to give more of our members a chance to be treated like the VIP they are. Previously MyVIP was limited to a MyVIP Star Rank, that allowed you to earn a % back on qualifying purchases. The expanded
    offerings showcased on the new MyVIP page were inspired by member feedback and give members three different ways to participate in MyVIP:

    MyVIP Percentage Back: Earn up to 10% back on qualifying purchases with your MyVIP Star Rank.

    MyVIP Perks & Gems: Access special offers and earn MyVIP Gems for a wide range of activities and milestones.

    MyVIP Vault: Trade in your MyVIP Gems for a Reward of your choice from our vault of curated prizes. You can read more about each of these different MyVIP features in the next few sections, or on the MyVIP page.

    Since Gems/MyChallenges were only created on October 1st, it is not possible to Reward activity that occurred before they existed.

    VIP reward not working?

    Unfortunately, since the program has ended in your region, you can no longer spend Gems or use the MyVIP Vault. As stated in the transition FAQ:
