    Good Morning,

    I made a purchase last month for ESO crowns and myVIP rank is still showing rank 1 @ 0%. Do I have to re-earn rank 1 in 2017 before I move up to rank 2? Thanks,

    In-game consumables are not eligible for VIP.

    Since ranks were reset and you are at 0% you do technically have to earn enough for rank 1 in order to continue on to rank 2.

    Normally, most purchases for Xbox 360 and Xbox One from the Xbox Store qualify, including full Games on Demand titles (excluding game pre-orders), arcade games, indie games, game add-ons, game Season Passes, movies, TV shows, TV seasons, themes and avatar
    items. In-game consumables, Xbox Live Gold memberships, Groove Music Passes, Microsoft Movies & TV Season Passes, and the purchase or redemption of Microsoft Points or Xbox Gift Cards, still do not qualify.

    Since your purchase was an in-game consumable, it is not eligible for MyVIP. Since you are 0% progress, you will have to spend the total required amount to reach your second star, as described on the FAQ. For your region, this is $600 CAD.

    As mentioned on your previous post (https://forums.xbox.com/en-US/thread/c342eeb5-aaee-4502-b47c-fe961cbf4a68), MyVIP is calculated as a monthly sum, and placed as pending
    midway through the following month, so it is too early to see your December purchases as payback.

    Regarding your MyVIP questions, you are correct. When we did our MyVIP re-calibration for 2017, we looked at your total eligible spending for the preceding year (in this case September 2015-December 2016). We then evaluate this spending against the MyVIP
    requirements for 2017. In your case, your eligible spending met or exceeded the requirement for MyVIP star rank 5 for 2017, so you were placed at a starting rank of 5. Since this is the maximum, you will maintain a rank of five over the course of this year,
    and receive payback at that level.

    At the next MyVIP re-calibration for 2018, you will then be evaluated again based on your total eligible spending for the year, and placed in your VIP rank depending on the VIP rank requirements for 2018.

    Lost progress to next star

    MyVip progress is reset on a yearly basis. The last reset was January 1st, 2017 and all users lost their progress (you keep your achieved stars). You then spend during 2017 and get a new star rank in 2018 based on 2017 spending.

    Hi BlowYaFaceOff Z. We looked into your account and based on your eligible purchases, you have been properly placed in the MyVIP program. Keep in mind that consumables, pre-orders and console purchases do not count towards MyVIP.
    You can see what qualifies in the
    FAQ    . In 2016, your eligible purchases came out to $309.83, which would place you in Star Rank 1 at the beginning of January 2017. Since January 1, 2017, your eligible purchases comes out to $553.38, which puts you at Star Rank 1. We will not be recalibrating
    MyVIP Star Ranks for the next year, so you will still be on your way to Rank 2, which is at $600.
