MyVIP Gems to Microsoft Rewards Conversion Rate

What is the conversion rate for MyVIP Gems when we move from Xbox Live Rewards to Microsoft Rewards? This isn't clear in the FAQ's. Also it appears that both visa gift card options for the 250 and 500 gems tiers
are no longer available. Will this reward be restored?

MyVIP Gem = 1 Reward Point !!!!

I read the FAQ on xbox live rewards site to know what will happen to MyVIP Gems at the end of this month when xbox live rewards become microsoft rewards ... here's what's in the FAQs .... "One MyVIP Gem will convert to one Microsoft Rewards point." that's
not right .... I can use 240 MyVIP Gems to claim 5000 Microsoft Rewards points .... who did this conversion rate !!!!

I want to claim 5,000 Rewards Credits using MyVIP Gems but it's showing the following message

"OUT OF STOCK

This item can only be claimed two times per month."

although I didn't claim it at all this month ....

The conversion rate is complete crap. At the least you could do is "restock" your own digital currency to a program based around your gaming console. Not screwing over the loyal customers who've prioritized their gaming purchases on your digital marketplace
to maximize their potential rewards.

If I had known this was going to be the case down the road, I'd purchase about more than half of my items physically or at the very least at another retailer with a rewards program.

 

It says in the FAQ that My VIP Gems will be converted to Microsoft Rewards Points 1:1. So, you're getting hosed. The 500 Gems that would net you $10 will now be worth...37 cents. It's true. A $1.25 Microsoft Gift Card costs 1700 Microsoft Rewards Points.

Oh, and the reply to your question about when the Vault will be "restocked" is going to have the following answer copied and pasted from a template:"We’ll be updating the vault with new items and restocking popular ones on a regular basis, so be sure
to check back often!" You'll get the same reply on the Twitter page, too.

And then the topic will be locked so you can't reply or continue discussion.

Really makes you feel like a valued customer, eh?

I am also gutted about this (In fact, I have not seen anyone have anything positive to say about this transformation). I have started doing every thing I can to get rewards and am already up to nearly 2000 GEMS. Then they go and take this away. This really
is shocking and it looks like Microsoft are going to be upsetting a hell of a lot of gamers here!! TAKE NOT MS, listen to your loyal fans!!

 

OK, follow-up question. If we opt out and don't want our Gems converted to MS Points, it says the balance will be deposited in the our regions tender. For me that is dollars. So will the 500 Gems be converted to $5 in cash? Also if we opt out to cash
out, can we then opt back in so we can at least begin to generate the MS points

Gems are equivalent to one point in the Microsoft Rewards system. We update the vault with new items and restocking popular ones on a regular basis, so be sure to check back often! If you choose to opt out of the program, Gems are also equivalent to one
Xbox Live Rewards Credit. They will be added to whatever your pending Credit amount is.
