    Mystery Xbox One HDMI issue


    Hey Guys

    Hoping someone can help.

    I have an Xbox One connected to a monitor by HDMI cable. Suddenly with no warning, the picture went and monitor reports "No signal".

    I have tried 3 alternative cables that are working on other setups. I also checked the original cable, its working fine on other setup.

    I have 2 TV's in the house. I have tried connecting the Xbox one to the TVs. The first TV is pretty new and when I plugged in the Xbox, it showed "No signal" exactly the same as with the monitor.

    When I plug the Xbox One into the older TVs the pictures comes straight up and is working fine.

    I have done a factory reset on the Xbox, this changed nothing.

    I really want to get the Xbox working again on the monitor. As the Xbox is clearly working on one of the TV's I am at a total loss as to what the issue could be. Does anyone have any ideas?

    VUDU app failing on Xbox since early March

    I did some testing with an HDMI monitor. One the Series X, I hooked it directly to the second output on the switch and everything worked fine. So the component converter was definitely the issue there. Looking into getting a 50-foot HDMI cable I can run to the kitchen as a more permanent solution (now that I have the HDMI monitor in there, I don't need the conversion).

    However, and this is the mystery that remains: I moved the same monitor, same HDMI cable, to the Xbox One X I had moved to the bedroom, and the issue remains EVEN WHEN IT'S DIRECTLY CONNECTED TO THE CONSOLE. How can that be? No idea. I thought I had this pegged. May try more testing when I have the time.

    Haha! I isolated it to a HDMI display issue as was across all HD connections, but it seemed to fix itself mysteriously! I will update if I find the fix so that others can try too!

    Its a samsung tv just for info!

    Removing the Xbox One eliminates the issue, and swapping HDMI cables into and out of the Xbox One does nothing. Signal loss is basically permanent now.

    HDMI cable from Xbox One to receiver is the one provided with Xbox One, all other HDMI are insignia highspeed HDMI.

    Thank you for replying and your follow up. I wasn't clear, I only tested it with the three AV (red/white/yellow) cables to make sure the sound worked at all. But I'm only using the HDMi cable by itself when I'm experiencing the no sound issue. I thought
    HDMi did run sound and video, hence the mystery. I tried unplugging/plugging it back in a few times but maybe I will try another HDMi cable. The video sure is great at least! :)
