Mysterious New Game Sickness

Hahahaha....I love this thread already. We all confessing eventually. Weill I don't have an Xbox One yet but was super excited yesterday for Titanfall's release. Soo excited that I could not concentrate in the lab and kinda kept on making petty mistakes
with my experiments so stopped everything and got the day off from my boss. I came home to watch youtube videos on unboxing and twitch videos on how people were playing. So glad for the game and planning to get the 360 version when it comes out. Hope it lives
up to the hype like it is on X1. Will probably write a 2 week leave from work when I get it and will say goodbye to social and work life till I'm halfway or 100% done with it. It's online only so it's gonna be tough.....meaning more time off to play.

 

I've been up since midnight playing Titanfall... But I put in for the day off.

I work in IT... Too many people know about it for a "sickie" to be considered a coincidence.

 

Only other game I have taken leave for was Gears 3. 4 player co-op campaign was awesome.

Next Gears will definitely get some leave put towards it.

Hmm what day does E3 fall on this year?

 

Yeah, I had another mystery sickness. It was too much caffeine and Titanfall. I felt like I did just after the launch of COD4. I was playing the game but felt like I was going through withdrawal symptoms.

 

i pre paid for my TF copy today from GAME i was first so i am first inline so ill go down and get there for 11:59pm and jump to the front

Never. Yes I have never called in sick to play a newly released game because I enjoy my job, but theres always a first time for everything - Titanfall

 

Sounds like Titanfall definitely has an effect that's making us all ill. I have noticed though that you'll never be able to do it for a GTA game if your boss has more than 1 brain cell. Too much publicity, talk on the radio and TV etc.

 

I logged onto Amazon and saw that Titanfall had been dispatched. Suddenly I feel....sick

 

I rarely call off. In 12 years I think I have called off once because management got on my nerves. Once for a midnight launch....and no more than 5 days because of major illness (flu).

In 9 days I am being promoted and will have 10 sick days per year. I plan on using them on special days...B-Day (which happens to be the same day as the 1st round of the NFL Draft!), one or two major game releases, gfs bday, ect. They only time I get sick
is when I'm overworked. I got the flu after working 29 out of 30 days this winter. 10-14 hour shifts 7 days a week. Yucky.

 

I've never taken time off for a video game (which many might find surprising considering how much I play video games).

 

I don't find it suprsing at all, when MW2 came out I went to midnight release, played until 7am when I completed the campaign, made some breakfast and still made it through the complete day of school. Yeah I fell asleep in my dinner when I got home, but
I fulfilled my commitments

 

I have a test tomorrow so I've been revising for that, after that I'll probably go missing for 3 days playing Titanfall
