Mysterious A button xbox one wireless controller help

im having real issues playing forza 7 as every now and again it refuses to downshift using A button, now ive on 3rd controller, one with bluetooth/wireless receiver and its srill happening, if i change buttons, then its fine, what on earth is going on, running
windows 10 pro latest update.

now funny thing is, this is only lately as my older wireless xbx pad was fine, i even done a full format and reinstall of windows, is there a faulty batch of these controllers?

pc spec:

ryzen 7 1700

b450 tomahawk mb

16gb ddr 4 3000mhz

Sounds to me like its more likely a hardware issue. If you think it's the controller you can always Troubleshoot your Xbox Controller .

whats the odds on 3 having same issue,mighty long odds i would say, i had tried the controller trouble shooter but no luck. i play about with it, but may have to go back again

Thank you for posting here on the Xbox forums. Usually, you are able to press any button on those screens to continue to the game. The start button is called the "menu" button on our Xbox controllers. You can find a diagram of the controller here :

The start (menu) button is in the middle of your controller. It is a small button with 3 horizontal lines.

If this controller was previously connected to the console but is no longer able to connect, you should repeat the connection process using the console’s connect button.

I actually think this is a good idea that should be implemented in the initial setup. Xbox has a specific website to submit ideas and users can vote on them. I suggest you post it there.
