How do i do a factory reset?

Ive done the hard reset by holding the power button down for 5 seconds when i turned it off, but the didnt work

Someone told me to do a reset on my router. Anyone ever try that???

Thanks for reaching out here in Xbox Forums. I understand there is an issue with signing into the Xbox One. I recommend trying asoft
factory reset of the console - Reset and keep games and appsto help reset the operating system. Please note before doing this troubleshooting step, make sure to know your email and passwords for your Xbox profiles.

Try this out and let us know the results.

its an xbox one. No error message comes up, it just wont sign in. The system itself seems fine, it seems to be with the microsoft sign in and ive got months left on my recent account. Ive done the hard reset and even tried removing my gamertag and then adding
it again but now i cant even get passed the “add new” on the sign in page.

Im out of idea and really frustrated at this point
