My Xbox won’t recognise my external Hard Drive, it is about 3 years old but still it just...

It recognises the external hard drive and all my games are on there and when I unplug the hard drive and put a disc in. It still doesn't do anything.

My Xbox is a year old and all of a sudden doesn't recognize my external hard drive.

No, the hard drive isnt new. It had loads of games from my old xbox its just a new xbox.

It worked perfectly fine and is recognised but nothing shows up if i go to the storage option and view contents. It still recognises there is content on the hard drive in terms of space taken but nothing in games and apps

I am in the Preview Program, have the latest update, and have had no problems with my Xbox recognising the external hard drive.

I have tried everything from restarting to even reformatting my Fantom Drive, which completely erased all the games i had on there, and it still refuses to do anything. I even connected it to another Xbox one, and that Xbox as well as my own Xbox can see
it and recognize it, but it just wont allow me to do anything with it.

So best guess i can figure out is that the update at the end of February that was released had some faulty code that ended up just completely corrupting some External Hard Drives, or atleast that seems to be what I'm gathering from other's comments and my
own experience. Funny enough my 4 year old Xbox branded External Hard Drive is still perfectly fine but my 1 year old Seagate Fantom Drive is the one that is corrupted.

I have ended up ordering a new 5tb External Hard Drive and will try to see how it does. If it refuses to work, then I guess I will be buying a PS5 instead of an X.B.O.X. when the new gens are released.
