My Xbox won't let me play a game I own, how do I fix it?

I dont have another console to test on but I did test another game I hadn't installed yet as well as tried to run a movie and none of them registered, I can hear the disc drive making all the usual noise nothing unusual but no install or play screens are coming up, so I'm not sure if it's the disc drive itself or something in-between, I've tired all the trouble shooting advice I could find but nothings changed and the console is running everything else perfectly fine.

Are you able to test the disc on another console to see if something's going on with it?

Please try reinstalling the game in this case, don't worry.
Your progress is uploaded to the cloud as soon as the console is connected to internet.

So, even a reinstallation your progress is going to be downloaded again.

Just in case , try this before that:
**Eject the disc first.
1. Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.
2. Unplug the console's power cable from the console and from the power outlet. Wait 5 minutes.
Important: Be sure to wait at least 5 minutes. This step resets the power supply.
3. Plug the console power cable back in.
4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.

After that, try to remove and re-add your profile on the console.

Also disconnect your router from power for about 3 minutes. Then connect it again an when everything is working, try again

Hi, i don't like to give bad news but right now everything is pointing to be an issue with the disc drive.

But before considering a hardware problem.
Worth performing an offline update for your console. In that way Xbox system will be installed from scratch.

**If maybe you're using an insider build / beta OS in your console you need to leave the program. If not the offline update is not going to work

So I tried both suggestions and now my xbox won't start the installation process I've re entered the disc I've attempted to restart the consol and I've removed and readded my account and it will not initiate the installation process, and I have triple checked I'm using the right first disc.
