    hi guys

    I recently tried to install two games on my console. The first game got stuck at 66% and refused to allow me to play it even though my dashboard said it was ready to start and the second game doesn't even register as being inserted in the disc drive (I have
    not been able to install it for that reason). I'm also having problems chatting to people online as my network settings no longer allow me to (I haven't changed any of the settings) and the most recent console update is "pending". The install for the first
    disc is now 14 hours and counting and its still stuck on 66%. I have restarted my console, cleaned the discs and checked for updates and I'm at a loss for what to try next. The only thing I did recently which may affect things was delete some old games from
    my hard drive as I was at 99% storage and unable to install anything else.

    If anybody can help out or suggest some new things to try, I will be eternally grateful as half of my weekend has been wasted so far just trying to play one game!

    Console-1tb Halo 5 edition

    Games-call of duty infinite warfare & Gears of war 4. CoD is the one stuck at 66% and Gears is the disc which won't register. Both games are pre owned discs.

    Advice

    Hi there, my Xbox has been struggling for a while now to read games, normally it will work after a while of taking the disc out n putting it back in. However I just got quantum break delivered today but it's not even recognising the disc to start the installation process. After a couple of tries( ejecting the disc and putting it back in) it makes the sound as if it doesn't is about to work but it doesn't even recognise it. I got the Xbox three years ago and everything else works fine. As I mentioned it has had trouble reading discs for a while but now it's not even recognising the disc, I tried quantum break in my brothers Xbox and it worked perfect first time. I was wondering if this problem can be fixed by independent stores and roughly how much this would cost. Any replies will be appreciated.

    i boughy the game from amazon on monday, it came this morning, but my xbox doesn't seem to recognise the disk or want to install it?!?

    Yeah any disc installed games are tied to the console sadly, so if you take the hd out and put in another console the games won't recognise as being installed. Xbla stuff will work fine though.

    None of my Games on my physical discs are not working.

    That issue can happen if the optical drive is faulty and can no longer read discs properly. When that happens, as the console can no longer detect the game disc properly, it checks to see if you have a digital entitlement to the game instead, which obviously in this case you don't.

    I'm not saying that is the cause, but it's a possibility. Does the console recognise game discs OK? Are you able to install a game from a disc? Have you tried playing a Blu-Ray movie and if so, does that work?

    Hello JamieJamie25,

    Are you playing with the disc inserted in the console?

    Try to launch the game through the disc icon in the main menu of the Xbox, to see if that way the game recognises properly the full license you have.

    The newer format discs do spin longer than the old format (usually about 3 minutes) If it continues after that time, then maybe the xbox doesn't recognise that you have the game installed. You should delete the installation and reinstall it again.
