My Xbox won't connect to Xbox live even though my live doesn't run out until next year

I have the same/similar issue. My xbox live gold has been renewed until next year, but my home screen keeps saying "time is running out" and "don't lose gold."

I'm having the same issue. I was connecting fine with my modem and wireless router until yesterday. Now it picks up my network but can't connect to live. If I test my Xbox live connection....it connects to the network and Internet but not live. If I run
a static check it connects to the Internet. However if I do the Initial Setup....the Internet fails and says Blocked next to xbox live

Just wait until the month runs out just to be on the safe side but as DB says you can stack the 2 you have bought but isn't your son going to be on live ?

As a side note even though you won't need them for a while CD Keys is a good site for xbox live

I got my Xbox Live Gold membership cancelled today, even though it should run until 12/24/14. Can someone help me with this?

Yes, I tried what you last posted and still no avail

And they sent me the same router, and it fails when ip address is set to auto

and yes, if I use my laptop's wifi to connect to xbox live (using a cord running from laptop to xbox) I can connect.

if I use the cord to run to my router, it won't assign it anything... even though the cord is good.
