My xbox won't connect to the Internet anymore

After taking about a week's break from using my xbox one s, my xbox will not connect to my wireless network. The console still detects it and all my other devices connect to it. I have not moved the console from where it previously connected. I have restarted both my xbox and my wifi box and there is no change. I have got the password correct and haven't changed any settings of the network or the console, so I don't understand why it won't connect.

A wired connection is impossible, please help!

Would resetting wipe all my save files? Is there any way around this?

Hard to be sure, but possibly the network device in the console might have stopped working. Usually it's caused by either a power surge damaging internal components or a loose connection sometimes cause by rough handling when moving the console. If you haven't tried factory resetting your console, I would at least try that as a last ditch effort. Otherwise, you may have to send it in to Microsoft for repairs/replacement.
