My Xbox won't connect to my 5ghz hotspot from my phone.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble connecting your Xbox to your 5GHz hotspot. Here on community, we can provide you some troubleshooting steps that you may try on your end. However, if the steps that I provided won't work, you may need to contact your phone's manufacturer or mobile carrier since this could be an issue on your network or phone already.



1. Make sure that your Xbox is within range of your phone's hotspot and that there are no obstructions blocking the signal.



2. Check that your phone's hotspot is set to 5GHz. Some phones have the option to switch between 2.4GHz and 5GHz, so make sure that you have selected the correct option.



3. Restart your Xbox and your phone. Sometimes, simply restarting your devices can help resolve connectivity issues.



4. Try resetting your network settings on your Xbox. To do this, go to Settings > Network > Network settings > Advanced settings > Alternate MAC address > Clear.

5. Router Settings:

• Log in to your router’s web interface (usually accessible via a web browser using the router’s IP address).
  
• Check if the 5 GHz band is enabled. Sometimes routers have separate settings for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz.
  
• Ensure that the channel width for the 5 GHz band is set to 40 MHz or greater. Some devices may not connect if the channel width is too narrow
  
  6. Proximity and Signal Strength:
  
  • Make sure your Xbox is within a reasonable range of your phone’s hotspot. The 5 GHz signal may not reach as far as the 2.4 GHz signal.
    
  • If possible, move your Xbox closer to the hotspot and try connecting again.
    

5. If none of the above steps work, try contacting your phone's manufacturer or your mobile carrier for further assistance.

I have the same problem with my console. I tried to log into the xfinity hot spot and had the same screen as you with no login. I managed to connect with my cell phone, and turn on the hotspot and have my xbox connect to my phones hotspot, running off the xfinity wifi, but its only 2.4ghz instead of 5. Even when you change the cellphone option to output 5ghz, it still wont work. At least it is good enough to play multiplayer with minimal lag.

I've been using my mobile hotspot to connect to xbox live and watch Netflix and YouTube through the TV apps on Xbox.Today my phone had a software update and now my Xbox won't connect to my hotspot anymore. Any ideas?

I tried the phone hotspot and it did not work

Neither did switching from a 2.4 to a 5ghz frequency on my home modem, though I'd give that a shot too
