i have attempted all basic trouble shooting steps and my AC Adapter is functioning along with the wall port it is plugged into. Last night i had unplugged the xbox to check a USB port in the back, upon plugging it back in the xbox does not turn on and does
not respond to anything. There is a faint ticking noise coming from the rear of the Xbox and NOT the AC Adapter, the sound is slow and faint and not fast. I have checked the AC Adapter and even plugged in another one and that haas not solved the problem. I'm
lost and hope there is an easy fix for this.

X1 making noises while off

Mine makes a faint ticking noise. I think it's just he fan. If your worried about saving energy, turn on energy saving mode to turn your box completely off.

Xbox ONE making sounds

i received my xbox one yesterday and it's been making sounds

i can hear this sound faintly from 50 centimeters away. (to get an accurate volume set the volume to be just a bit above mute)

and i can hear a faint ticking noise when im 20 centimeters away.

i talked with MS Support and they said it's normal but im not so sure.

should i be concerned?

My issue is that the fan ticks. The console is set up in a bedroom. When everything is turned off (or on standby), I hear this fast "tick, tick, tick" from the Xbox One PSU. I specifically built my PC to be as close to silent as I could make it, so I can
even hear the Xbox One PSU ticking over the sound of my PC when that's turned on. I'm not saying that the noise is "loud", because it's not. But any noise that can clearly and constantly be heard when a product is supposedly turned off is not good, especially
an annoying ticking sound.

Same thing happened with me. I can press the xbox on button and here a very faint start up noise but other than that my xbox wont turn on.

@Endgamez, when it's in standby mode, which mine is, I along with numerous people on this forum have heard this faint clicking or ticking noise so I would assume it's normal or all of us have defective consoles.
