It will say it’s connected but nothing will work after the first few seconds. Hotspots work fine. The wifi will work for maybe a minute then stop for about the next 5 and nothing seems to work the wifi works everywhere except the Xbox.

My Xbox will connect to wifi but only for short amounts of time .

Hello, BenD_386 my name is Oskayra I am independent advisor and I will be happy to help you today.

It sounds like you're experiencing an intermittent WiFi connection on your Xbox. This can be frustrating, especially when trying to play online games or access streaming services. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Verify your internet connection:

Test your internet speed: Use a speed test website like Speedtest by Ookla to check your internet download and upload speeds. Ensure they meet the minimum requirements for online gaming and streaming.
Restart your router and modem: Power off your router and modem for at least 30 seconds, then turn them back on. This can sometimes clear up temporary network glitches.
Check for firmware updates: Make sure your router and modem have the latest firmware updates installed. This can improve performance and stability.
    2. Optimize your Xbox network settings:

Change the DNS server: Use a public DNS server like Google DNS or OpenDNS. This can sometimes improve internet connection stability.
Turn off automatic updates: Disable automatic updates for games and apps to reduce network traffic and improve performance.
Clear the MAC address: Clear the MAC address on your Xbox and reconnect to the WiFi network. This can sometimes resolve connectivity issues.
    3. Check for interference:

Move your Xbox closer to your router: This can improve the strength of the WiFi signal.
Remove any obstacles between your Xbox and router: Walls, furniture, and other objects can weaken the WiFi signal.
Change the WiFi channel: Some WiFi channels are more crowded than others. Try changing the WiFi channel on your router to see if it improves the connection.
    4. Contact your internet service provider:

If the problem persists after trying all the above solutions, contact your internet service provider for further assistance. They might be able to identify and fix the issue from their end.
    Additional tips:

Try a wired connection: If possible, connect your Xbox to your router using an Ethernet cable for a more stable connection.
Use a WiFi signal booster: Consider using a WiFi signal booster to extend the range of your wireless network.
Reset your Xbox network settings: As a last resort, you can reset your Xbox network settings to factory defaults. This will erase all saved network connections and require you to re-enter your WiFi password.

Xbox Console Streaming (Preview) Expands To More Markets Today

I've been on the preview for a short amount of time and I think it's awesome. On 2.4ghz wifi it can be pretty laggy but on 5ghz it's much more stable for me. I bought a set of 3 controller clips on amazon and they are great! A cable connection on xbox
    works better for me too.

New Xbox Series X wifi connection problem on TPlink router

Hello, first want to notice that i had done everything wirtten within the wifi problem on xbox on Microsoft site.

I have a TPLink router and when it connects via wifi it doesn't word, the test on console is showing only that packets are downloaded but there is no upload (upoload test 0).

    - On cable works fine but where the consol should be placed in my house there is no possibility to have a cable, WIFI only

    - Other devices works fine (mobiles, pc, laptops, fridge) no issues, just with new xbox

    - Disconnected all wifi devices by changing the password on wifi and left only the console, no difference xbox is not uploading any data (upload test 0).

Upload is working from time to time for a short period of time after reseting wifi connection on xbox, or restarting the xbox.

Please resolve the problem or provide a guide different than allready provided on Microsoft site regarding xbox wifi issue cause the console right now is useless.
or provide me the name and model of router that the xbox is working fine with, ill buy it.

Xbox one randomly losing connection to Xbox live while connected to wifi.

    Hello!

A few things you could try are removing the wifi connection from the Xbox and reconnecting it. There may also be something going on with the internet connection, in which it disconnects for a very short amount of time and then reconnects. You wouldn't
notice this when doing many activities such as streaming (because it buffers the stream ahead of time), but you would for something such as gaming online. This could caused from any number of things such as something with the Xbox, the Router, or your service
provider. The easiest ways to determine this is to either connect your Xbox to a different router (and a different internet connection if possible) to see if the problem persists, or likewise connect another Xbox to your internet connection.
