My xbox ui is moving slow and taking a long time to load basic things after and attempted...

I'm having the same problem. After several forced reboots it eventually gave me a "checking for updates" screen, which took about 10 minutes to go away.

However, attempting to load any UI (including the side menu) causes the Xbox to freeze for several minutes before eventually succeeding. In the case of apps, it will time out long before it has the chance to load anything. This includes all core apps such
as settings, and even UI overlays such as the "Power off" menu from holding the button, and even the error screens that's appear after a timeout.

Whilst typing this, my Xbox just forcibly shut itself off unexpectedly.

by the way villarino my xbox avatar editor xbox edition is working BUT it takes long to load and its slow..

I have the same exact issues. I have had this issue for a long time and after trying all these things i finally just dealt with it. This has lead me to a decrease in gaming time because how long the UI takes to load and how much time i feel like i waste
while the system boots up. The only question i didnt see anyone ask you was: Do you have an extensive amount of games tied to your library. (installed and not installed)

I can see the point of view of the OP, but for me it was just a matter of getting use to the new UI, I do feel the UI would benefit more if it took after the 360 a little more, but the UI was designed to work more with voice commands than the controller,
and I think that getting to my friends list takes about the same amount of time, or faster, than doing it on the 360, yes the 360 is easier to get to my friends but takes a while to load the Xbox menu, then load the friends list.

I'm not apologizing for MS, but I know it will get better by just seeing the transformation the 360 dashboard went through, some updates will be good, some will be bad, either way as long as I can play games with my friends I can deal with any pitfalls that
may be coming. It's way too soon to be jumping ship IMHO...
