My Xbox turns on and off by itself

my Xbox one turns off randomly during games, Netflix, etc. I've read it may be an overheating problem so I'm gonna try some things to fix it but my main issue is that it turns on by itself, literally seconds after turning it off. I've tried resetting, every
night I turn off my surge protector to avoid waking up to it everyday. It keeps happening I've also tried disconnecting my Kinect to make sure that's not the issue and it's not. Please help

hey there, check for dust, or dirt around you power button try cleaning around that area with a ear bud or cotton bud with a tiny bit off water on. let me know if problem persists

This might be a problem with the power supply. Try moving the power supply to where you can see it. If the light turns red right before your console powers off, you will know it's a problem with the power supply.

If it's an overheating problem, then you'll need to give your Xbox adequate "breathing room" so it'll properly circulate airflow.

It's also recommended to plug your Xbox directly into the wall outlet rather than a surge protector or power strip. The Xbox's power supply has its own surge protection built-in, and plugging it into another surge protector can cause electrical
hiccups that could cause the Xbox to behave erratically.

But fear not, for there is a solution! First of all, that's so basic and normal. It usually happens to me quite often, but there's a reason; your Xbox console is telling you something. Therefore, if you're a newbie or kind of new to this system. Start off
by checking the regular mistakes that are common with beginners and so on:

1- Check the Xbox 360/One's Adapter sometimes the charger, plug or the wire itself is not adjusted or pressed in tightly.

2- Are you AFK (Away From Keyboard) sometimes being away from keyboard, as in unstable from touching any of the console devices for an amount time, can automatically shut down your console.

3- Settings have you checked your settings maybe? Screen saver, or duration time before the Xbox automatically shuts down?

And very lastly, you can set Download to Automatic. So that the games and updates are automatically downloaded and installed without needing to wait any longer!

right now i have the same issue. It turned off while using 2 times in 5 minutes. I rebooted the console, and it boots to "my games & apps"? when i press homebutton, nothing happens. i tried a reboot again, same thing. I reset my console entirely (changed
from old x1 to new x1 s a week ago, so no big fuss) and now it works. For 5 minutes. After just using plex for a couple of minutes, can't switch to homescreen AGAIN and am now stuck with guide menu. reboot wont help. Can't even send an error report due to
missing button to do that. Your solutions didn't help either.
