My Xbox thinks my controller is getting power from a different source from batteries.

So, I’m just going to give some background knowledge first, I was playing the hardest thing in Destiny 2, a GrandMaster NightFall, and we all dies so we had to go back to orbit and attempt it all again, I threw my controller on the ground because we spent 45 minutes in there and then I left my FireTeam, and my controller wa s plugged in because my batteries were dead at the time and they dies in the middle of the activity and when I droppe my controller the plug stayed in. So after my rage quit I went to go get new batteries and I’ll just take a break. But when I went back into the game, I didn’t have any vibrations, everything for vibration were on but there still weren’t any vibrations, I figured you needed batteries In your controller to get vibrations, but I already had fresh batteries in, when I pressed the menu button, by Xbox thought power source of my controller was only a charger, I tried everything to make my Xbox think there wasn’t a charger plugged in but nothing worked, right now if no fix is found I’ll just wait out until my batteries die for it, and yes I tried to take the batteries out then put them in again, it’s just nothing worked. Does anybody have a way to fix this? Me playing games doesn’t feel normal without vibrations, it’s even affecting my aim in FPS games.

    :)

This might be a hardware issue since you lost vibration right after you threw the controller!

You can try and see if your controller needs any update, hoping that what was mentioned above was all a coincidence!

If that doesn't correct the issue, you might want to request a replacement.

    cannot unmute xbox

    Hello!

Have you tried using different headsets on the controller? Or different controllers to determine whether it is your headset or possibly the controller itself. I recommend you safely power down the console and then unplug it from the power source. Remove
the batteries from your controller and use a USB cable to plug the controller directly to the console with the headset plugged in. Then plug the console back in after waiting a minute or two. Use the controllers power button to power up the console (you can
put the batteries back and unplug it once you get to the home screen). Check to see if that helps with the headset issue. Let us know with a reply

    Controller will NOT Connect

To better understand why the controller is disconnecting, try the following steps to narrow down possible causes.

First, remove the batteries from the controller and find an USB data cable that fits the controller. Beware of using phone charging cables! Some charging cables only have the power wires connected, but no data cables. So the controller is getting power,
but won't connect through the cable. Make sure you really use a Micro USB data cable (e.g. from a USB card reader on your PC or something like that).

Connect the controller WITHOUT batteries to the console via USB and start the Xbox Accessories app. Check that the controller has the most up-to-date firmware installed. Try the controller while connected via USB cable.

If the controller doesn't work reliably, the controller is probably defective, and you might get it repaired/replaced via
    https://devicesupport.microsoft.com/

If the controller works flawlessly with the USB cable connected to the console, unplug the controller from the console.

Now find an USB power source. Be it a USB power bank, or an USB charging adapter for your Smartphone. Connect the controller to the USB power source, and have the controller connect wirelessly.

Check if the controller stays connected with a reliable external power source.

If the controller stays connected using the USB power source, your batteries are faulty.

If you use rechargeable batteries, be aware that after a certain number of charging cycles, the batteries can't hold a full charge. Combined with the fact, that rechargeable batteries only have 1.2V compared to 1.5V of disposable batteries, and the discharge
curve of a rechargeable battery decreases constantly (like a slope), while the discharge curve of disposable batteries hold the charge on a "plateau" and sharply dropping off when the batteries die, it might be that your fully charged batteries don't hold
    out as long as expected.

Try using fresh rechargeable batteries or try getting an official Play & Charge battery pack.

    Xbone Chatpad Question

Cool. So it gets power from the controller itself. Does it eat up the controller's battery pretty quickly or is there no real noticeable difference?

My controller isn't syncing even with new batteries

Hello, My name is David. I am an independent advisor, happy to help you today.

Ensure the controller is in sync mode: On the Xbox controller, press and hold the sync button, located on the top of the controller near the shoulder buttons. The Xbox button on the controller should start flashing, indicating it is in sync mode.

Restart the console: Power off your Xbox console completely and unplug it from the power source. Wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in and power it on. This can help reset the console's connection and may resolve syncing issues.

Try a different set of batteries: Even new batteries can sometimes be faulty. Try using a different set of fresh batteries to ensure it's not a battery issue. Alternatively, if you have a rechargeable battery pack, make sure it's charged and inserted properly into the controller.

Use a USB cable to sync: Connect the Xbox controller to the console using a USB cable. This will establish a direct connection and can help troubleshoot any wireless syncing issues. After connecting the controller, wait for a few seconds to see if it syncs automatically.

Update the controller firmware: Connect the Xbox controller to your console with a USB cable. Then, go to the Xbox settings menu and check for any available controller firmware updates. Updating the controller firmware can address bugs and improve compatibility.

Remove other wireless interference: Ensure there are no other wireless devices or strong sources of interference near your console and controller. Devices like routers, smartphones, or other wireless controllers can interfere with the syncing process. Move any potential sources of interference away from your gaming setup.

Test with a different controller: If possible, try using a different Xbox controller to see if it syncs successfully. This can help determine if the issue is specific to the controller or if there might be an underlying problem with the console itself.

If the problem persist after all this, let me know to find another solution.

    Best regards.
