My Xbox thinks it has a wired connection when it doesn't

Hey, so today I went to play xbox live on my xbox one, and it says it has a wired connection. There is no ethernet cable plugged into it, and I've never used a wired connection before. When I try to setup my wireless connection it tells me to unplug the
network cable, which doesn't exist. I've tried turning it off and on again and that doesn't help. Thanks in advance for any help.

Network Issues

Hello, my Xbox One is having problems connecting with my wireless network. When I turn on my Xbox it says it isn't connected to the internet, and when I try to set up my wireless network again it says it has a wired connection when it doesn't. It says I
need to unplug the wired connection in order to connect to the wireless, which I can't do because I don't have a wired connection. This has happened before and restarting my Xbox has fixed it, but restarting the console is no longer working. Can anyone help?

Well my xbox use to run just fine off wired connection I was running it off wired connection for almost a year no problem and then about august once I got back from a trip it just stopped running off wired connection. And I have tried everything other then
hooking my modem straight up to my xbox which is kinda impossible because I have a networking room not in my gaming room. And the router I am connected to wireless is also my wired connection router it has both wire and wireless so I don't think the problem
is with the router.

Update: I tried running the Test Connection option in Network Settings and it eventually came back with an error stating that the Wireless hardware is not working and that the console needs to be sent in for repair.

Update #2L did a full Shutdown on Xbox, then unplugged from power for 2 full minutes, then started back up. and it is now working

Unplug the XBOX for a minute, plug it back in, hard reset should do the trick.

Not sure if it will work directly from my modem, I have my modem in the bedroom but the Xbox One is in my living room. The computer in my bedroom is hooked up to that one MOCA adapter and it's receiving an Internet connection fine but like I said the coax
light doesn't come up on either adapter which I would think I shouldn't get any connection but I am getting something since I can get on the Internet on my PC and do pretty much everything on the Xbox One but get on multiplayer. Also in the living room I
have a roku 3 which doesn't allow me to connect either if I try to plug the ethernet cable into that. When you try to connect through a wire on the Roku 3 it goes through 3 checks, Wired connection, local connection and Internet. It sees the wired connection
but fails on the local connection and doesn't go any further. Really weird!!?
