My Xbox Series X Shuts off while downloading games and also while playing.

It happens randomly when playing games and also continuously when downloading a new game.

The sequence of events:

Xbox will seem to work, then controller stops working and starts flashing it's connection light then the Xbox just turns itself off and stays off (no restart).

I thought maybe it was due to an external SSD I have connected so tried removing it - nope still does it. I also thought maybe it was due to the transfer rates (I have a very fast internet connection) so I started up a game in the background to slow the
download speed to ~ 30Mb/s. Nope still does it. Right now the only way to download a game is to continuously babysit and turn the console back on every 10 minutes or so until the download is complete. Playing games is another problem - it just stops and
turns off randomly by itself in the middle of playing with the same sequence of events (although no where near as often as when downloading a game).

I had the same drive and games in the Xbox One X and never had these problems so something isn't working quite right with the new architecture.

Anybody know if there is a workaround or solution for this?

It's nothing to do with ventilation its we think a software issue read through the forum loads of us got the same problem

Question how is your x series placed

If on the floor on carpet

Put it on a shelf with lots of room and clearance if you are standing it up

The fans are ontop and the output is on the bottom carpet will block and keep heat in

You shouls have plenty of clearance on both sides too

I am having this same issue with the Xbox 1 X. Having the issue with the same game tonight but it has also been an issue while playing Borderlands 3. Also no error codes before or after the shut off. Game just freezes for about 10 seconds, party chat can
still be heard and then shut off.

i am playing these games while connected to Xbox Live. i've also power cycled the Series X.

Yes it's the original hdmi cable for the xbox series x. I have tried hard resetting my tv and restoring my xbox to original settings without losing my games But still the same issue. I'm not sure but can shutting off the xbox completely while on the HDR calibration app cause this issue?
