    My Xbox Series S Won’t Turn On My Tekevision


    Previously, when my Xbox Series S was on the GA release, it used to turn on and off my television just fine. Now, it won’t turn my television on, but it will turn my television off.

    This is when (obviously) connected via HDMI to a 4K TV. I’m turning the Xbox one with a remote control, and though the Xbox turns on, the television does not turn on along with it.

    I used to see some menus where you could customize what type of signal/action a remote performed (for example an “on” signal, an “off” signal, and a “toggle on/off” are apparently all different things.

    Just curious if anyone is aware of a way by which I could fix this. It’s inconvenient to have to grab a second remote just to turn the TV set on.

    If I do the console reset option that doesn’t remove games and apps on the Xbox series s, does it still remove all accounts as well?

    Thankyou for the response, I have other things connected to my WiFi and are having no issues with them so my WiFi is on and working, I even pulled out my Xbox one and it’s having the same issues, I’ve reset my Xbox series s, and It won’t even let me finish the setup stages because it just simply won’t connect.

    Yes, it will keep on blinking when you are downloading games while it is off. Try syncing the controller again with the console because as long as the controller is already synced with the console, it should be able to turn it on.

    Thank you for responding. I only have one controller it came out of the same box as the console, I’ve only been able to power the console on once with the controller every other time since I’ve had to press the button on the console. Once the console is on it recognizes the controller and works fine. But now it’s chirping and blinking while I have it powered down I don’t know if it has to do with me downloading games while it’s off.
