My xbox series s buzzes when I plug it in but doesn't turn on

Hi Falcon, my name is Joel, I'm here to help you with any problems or questions you may have.

Falcon, try powering on your console using the procedure below, if it is not already a fault in the internal power supply of your console that requires repair, it should power on and display the troubleshooting screen.

Turn off the console and then unplug the power cord to make sure the console is completely turned off.

- Wait 1 minute

- Reconnect the power cord.

- Press and hold the BIND button (used to sync controllers on the console) and then press the Xbox button on the console.

- Continue pressing the BIND button for 10-15 seconds.

- I should listen to two ignition tones a couple of seconds apart.

Note: If you do not hear two ignition tones after 15 seconds, it means that this failed. Similarly, if you hear a screeching of "off", that also means that this failed.

- You must release the BIND button after the second power tone.

- The console should start and show the problem resolution screen.

Nope, it doesn't work on my console or wireless. When plugged in with USB cable, the buzzing is constant and sounds like an electrical buzz. The vibration motors don't seem to go off when this buzz happens.

Ah, I knew I was missing something obvious. Can't believe I didn't check that. I never tried actually using the controller with a wired connection cause bluetooth works fine. If only the controller came with a USB-C cable, it took me awhile to find a USB-C cable I already owned and the only one I have is about 4 inches long, which isn't very useful. To answer your question, turns out I cannot. The controller buzzes when plugged in and I assumed that meant it's connected, but it doesn't actually turn on. When I turn it on, it uses the bluetooth connection. I suppose this isn't an issue with the app after all!

I've tried plugging it into all available USB ports on my PC, and it doesn't even show up in Windows' device manager. So I guess the controller knows it's connected, considering it buzzes, but the PC doesn't, so it doesn't prompt the controller to turn on?

Hi Sara, I have tried that as well and still nothing. I keep hearing a buzzing sound when I plug the power cord into my XBox One S, but still no power light. I may have to look into servicing it
