My xbox says I have an invalid type of security, how do I find out what security I have?

WEP and WPA/WPA2 are security settings within the modem/router. If you do not know how to access and set them up for your brand then you should contact either your ISP support or router technical support for further assistance.

Yup, he used an Amazon Gift Card to buy an Xbox Gift Card.

I tried your suggestion, but when we tried to purchase an item to see if there was an option to buy as a gift, there was a message saying that they would send a security code to our email address. We got the security code, but the problem now is that the
security code doesn't work. I copied & pasted the code in & I also typed it in manually, but it keeps saying that the Microsoft Security Code is invalid.

The second email thing was in regards to a security feature. I had to do it too, and had to send it to my roomate. Many have to go through it, so it has nothing to do with invalid emails. It's a quirky security thing, and I think it's a 1 time event.
