My Xbox says I don't own skyrim despite having the disc in tray.

this started the day after that "free play" thing. I knew this was cause an issue. I restarted my Xbox and game. Still asks "do you own this game or app". Umm yes I've owned the damned thing for awhile now.

Disc Drive Constantly Reopens

I've had my Xbox Slim since last Christmas, for the past 2 months I have to constantly close my disc drive.

I will turn my Xbox on and as soon as it turns on the middle green light will be flashing, on the dashboard despite a disc being in it will say "Opening" without me having pressed anything. If I open it, it will immediately close. When the tray closes the
light remains flashing and it doesn't even try to read the disc. Eventually after constantly opening and closing the tray it will stop flashing and read the disc no problem.

What in the world is going on here?

Sorry to hear it. If a power cycle does not work then try doing a factory reset on the console. Don't worry about your installed content though as there's an option to keep installed games/apps so you won't need to redownload them.

Really? When I don't have the disc in my Xbox it says it costs $59.99 but when I have Skyrim in my console it just say's install.

Unspoken lies, I found it I went through the steps and it did noting, my skyrim disc is in the tray, doing nothing but play the music at the load screen. This problem start the other day when XBL sent out that update then my skyrim disc stop loading for
me. I say, its on XBL end they caused this to happen its not just me but many with the same issue.

I just don't see why you can't GET UP AND MOVE, and switch the game over yourself, having two disc trays with more to go wrong has more cons than having to open the disc tray.

If you say the opening the disc tray puts stress on the console, your idea to fix this is making the problem twice as worse by having two trays - hence stupid idea... sorry.
