After 4 years my XBox One power supply died. While I'm ordering a new one, is it possible to pause my XBox Live Gold subscription?

Unfortunately no, it's not possible to pause a subscription.

I would turn off auto renewal as well. Just so you don't keep getting billed while you wait for a new Xbox.

I'm sure you can call xbox support and get a replacement power supply.

Power Brick Fan Sounds Like It's Going To Explode

I also have a loud power supply, although I wouldn't say mine sounds "like it's about to explode". Instead I'd say mine sounds like a laptop fan going at max, which is much louder than the console itself while playing Forza 5. According to the "About the
Xbox One Power Supply" page (support.xbox.com/.../about-power-supply) the fan speed changes as the power supply gets hot. Mine does not, the noise stays constant
even after the console has been off (instant-on off) for upwards of five minutes. This suggests that either my power supply gets hotter when the Xbox is in standby than it is supposed to, or my power supply is not correctly adjusting to temperature. I'm leaning
towards the latter, since the power supply feels only slightly warm.

The "About" page from above does suggest plugging the Xbox into an outlet directly instead of plugging it in to a power strip. I've done this (in fact I'm typing this in my bathroom right now because that's the least taxes circuit in my house) and it's working
just as hard as it was in the living room, even after 5 minutes of standby.

Anyone have any suggestions, or know how I can go about getting a replacement?

WE have to PAY for postage costs!

    Glad I found this thread.

I have an abnormally loud power supply. The fan makes a buzzing sound that I can even hear over my 360 if I switch that on.

So I contact xbox support via chat.

While I have no complaints about the guy I spoke to, he seemed friendly and helpful enough.

It's the actual support policies I have a problem with.

First of all to get a replacement power supply I have to send mine back first and then not be able to use my xbox for a couple of weeks until I get a replacement.

That's bad enough but what really annoys me is I have to send it off to the Czech Republic at my own expense. And Microsoft wont even reimburse the postage costs.

I'm in the UK and posting a power supply to another country on the other side of Europe is not going to be cheap. I am actually quite disgusted by this. I did some quick pricing online. I'm seeing ridiculously expensive postage costs like £50.

When my 360 died years ago Microsoft covered all expenses. They got UPS to pick it up and a new one delivered promptly within a couple of days. It was actually decent service.

But now the service has gone terrible.

It is absolutely disgusting that we should have to foot the bill for postage ourselves especially if the consoles are under warranty. I'm even more disgusted that i'm reading you need to pay postage to get the actual consoles replaced as well.

I get the impression it would actually be cheaper to buy a new power supply but apparently demand is so high that they have stopped selling them separately.

After reading the posts in this thread i'm now too scared to send off my power supply.

What if it gets lost in the post?

Earlier someone in the thead said they are having problems getting microsoft to send a replacement so my xb1 would become and expensive paper weight especially as they wont sell power supplies separately.

What if the replacement power supply has a fault?

I would then have to send that back at my expense again.

This has really annoyed me now.
