    My Xbox power bricks/supplies broke.

Both my Xbox 360, and Xbox One power supply have been broken. Both my Xbox's have been working just fine until I plugged them into a power outlet that I've never used them on before. Apparently that power outlet had some issues with it, because it seems to
break anything I plug into it.

So I was using the TV in the room with that outlet, it broke my Xbox One power-supply/brick. It would not do anything and also had a weird smell coming from it. I thought it might have just been the Xbox One brick itself that was the problem. I did not bother
to try and find a new one for awhile. I was bored one day and decided to plug in my Xbox 360 to the TV in the same room. I used the outlet again, and it broke the 360 Power brick as well.

Anyone know how I can buy some legitimate Microsoft Xbox 360, and Xbox One power supply replacements?

    Thanks for any help.

    :)

Why does my Power Brick stay on?

yea its because the xbox is never truly off.

On a pc, you have the system power button and the power supply power button. You can turn the computer off and on with the power button, but the system is still juiced unless you turn off the switch in the back, with the power supply button

Same goes for the xbox except the power supply (brick) doesnt have a button

    My Xbox power bricks/supplies broke.

    Hey Kommandeer,

Firstly, I'd probably reccomend getting an electrician out to check out that outlet, as not only is it killing whatever you plug into it, but its also a fire hazard. That smell that came out was something burning more likely, so just be very careful with
    how you use it

Regarding the power supplies, I beleive the only way to get them replaced is through Xbox Support

To order one, you can either call them, or go through the following link:

    Power brick

    Hey Loglic Xi

Did you buy a new brick because the old one broke? If so it sounds like the issue is with the console itsself not the power brick. If that is the case microsoft no longer service the OG xbox one so you would need to replace the console. A solid orange light
means the power brick is working correctly

There is also this troubleshooting page that may help

    Xbox not turning on.

First, move the power supply brick to where you can see the light on it. Press and hold the power button on the Xbox for at least 20 seconds. You'll hear it beep and power down.. keep holding that button and watch the power supply brick light. When that
brick light goes orange, that's when you know it's fully off. Then go ahead and unplug the power supply brick cord from the wall and from the Xbox. Go ahead and disconnect the cable from the brick so that you've got two piece of your supply and cord. Give
it a minute or so, and then plug the brick and cord back into each other, then into the Xbox, and finally into the wall again. Press the power button on the front of the Xbox.

    Power cable/supply nearly caught fire...

You can buy a replacement power supply from places such as Gamestop, however, your Xbox may be fried if it got hot enough to melt the power supply.

Make sure you buy compatible power supply though. If you have a newer FAT 360, get the smaller power brick, but if it's over a year old, get the larger brick. The larger brick will work with any console, but the small brick will only work with Jasper motherboards
    (the newest "fat" 360s).

If you have a slim, I'm guessing they have their own specific power supply.

older power brick with "newer" xbox, they work but...

No the older brick will work fine. the brick itself uses more power but will supply the xbox properly.
