    On a number of games my I'll get so far in the game and reach certain points and my XBox will overheat and turn off. My XBox however is stone cold.

    I have noticed that if it's a Game Pass game and I download the game it will overheat. But if I play on the cloud my XBox does not overheat. Meaning, if I buy a game I am unlikely to see it through to the end.

    Strangely Cyberpunk 2077 worked without a hitch but Disco Elysium was unplayable due to overheating. The latter game is an isometric seemingly low spec game

    Are you getting a message that says that it’s overheating, or is the system spontaneously shutting down?

    Playing in the cloud causes your system essentially zero stress, at least compared to running the game locally. So by extension it generates much less heat.

    I agree with both of you guys and was pretty much my opinion too. As mentioned already the devil will be in the detail,, for instance take the latest MGS, there was a bug in the game which caused your game to become unplayable at a certain point if you used
    a certain buddy, now is this something that would entitle you to a refund or would they claim you should wait for a patch? I suppose we can only hope it might make developers think twice before pushing out a game ASAP if they know it's broken in some way.

    They should make acceptions for certain games especially if they are unplayable like Fallout 76. That game has been one of the biggest disasters in recent memory.
