My Xbox One X won't let me purchase or download Xbox 360 games

Title. Interesting facts that might be used by others more knowledgeable:

-I hit the confirm button, then get the message, "Sorry. Your purchase couldn't be completed at this time. Please try again."

-This has been an issue ever since I switched from 360 to Xbox One, which was when the console released.

-My Xbox One doesn't recognize that I owned games that I didn't have installed on my 360 when I switched over, even though I purchased them and had save data for them. (Had Battlefield 3 on 360, uninstalled, now my Xbox One doesn't recognize I have it, so
it's not in my ready to install). I realize this is a seperate issue, though I still suspect the two problems affect each other.

-This ONLY occurs in games that I didn't already own- i.e., I had Red Dead Redemption on my 360 hard drive, so downloading that was no problem. But I cannot buy Magic 2012, a game which I have never owned or tried owning until this point.

Same here, it let me download the trial but won't let me purchase full game on either Xbox or the website

 

Missing Xbox 360 game purchase

Hi, I was hoping somebody could help me. One of my Xbox 360 Arcade game purchases is missing from both my purchase and download histories, and the page for the game won't let me download it without rebuying it. Is there a way to fix this?

(Note: I am using the account the purchase was made on, before anyone asks. I have only ever had one Xbox account.)

Edit: The game in question is Half-Minute Hero: Super Mega Neo Climax. I have checked on the stores on Xbox 360, Xbox One, and the Xbox website, but it doesn't show as purchased anywhere.

 

If you're on a child account, you'll have to make the purchases from a 360 console. Otherwise, make sure you have a credit card/Paypal on file in order to make the purchases.

Battlefield 3 will only work with a disc. So it will not show as ready to install if you own it digitally.
