My Xbox One X settings are for region 1 but region 1 discs will not play

    My Xbox One X settings are for region 1 but region 1 discs will not play


    I purchased a Cyberpunk 2077 SE Xbox One X and transferred all my previous Xbox One X settings to it. It is set up for region 1 yet it will not play region 1 discs, including games, DVDs, and BluRay discs. I can play digital content without any issues.
    Is there an update or a setting I need to change or look for?

    Error code 0x91d70005

    I got my got my Xbox Day One console at Microsoft Store in Chicago. I got the same error while playing a DVD.

    "Sorry, We cant's play this disc. This disc is made for region 1 and this console is designed for region2(0x91d70005)".

    This is strange, because i live in Region 1 and bought the console in USA. Console should be able to play a disc made for region 1.

    Any suggestions?

    Xbox 360 discs are mostly region based and could be where the disc came from. Where did you buy the disc from?

    Were you ever living in Russia at any point and changed your Xbox 360 account region? The account region is different to what your Xbox profile may have for Xbox One.

    I bought the disc in The Czech Republic. I played this game on my old console XBox 360 and everything was ok. Console XBox 360 was broken in warranty and Microsoft change it for XOne. So, now I have new XOne and the game, installed from the same disc, is
    in Russian language.

    I've never changed region on my Xbox360.

    Hi,

    Physical games on the Xbox One platform are region free and work on all Xbox One console's.

    So regardless of any region differences with Series X, your Xbox One games will not be affected as the region free is hard coded into the discs (for want of a better explanation). My guess is that the Series X will be region free for physical games anyway.
