    My xbox one x is shutting down.


    This didn't start until today. I was booting up State of Decay 2 and had just made it to the main menu when my xbox shuts down. I had to unplug the power source and then plug it in again to get it to power back up. I tried multiple other games and the
    same thing would happen. The game would load to the main menu or a little beyond and then the console would shut down. It's not doing this while sitting on the home screen or while in video apps like youtube or hulu. So, i've tried to uninstall and reinstall
    games. I've tried to factory reset with keeping all my games and that didn't work and I tried factory resetting with deleting everything. Both of these options failed. I tried talking to the "gamers" chat to see if they could help and the guy suggested latency
    because mine was rather high. I hooked an ethernet cable up instead of a wireless connection and latency is clean to 50-60 latency and still no luck. Any help would be appreciated. Again this wasn't happening before the most recent update.

    Latency has nothing to do with the console shutting down...sigh...

    Quick and easy things to check are ventilation issues, is the console in a cabinet or on or next to another device that gets warm?

    Are the vents unobscured? Do you hear the fan coming on, or does it get really loud?

    Is there anything on the console?

    Is it dusty where the console is?

    baring any of that, if going through the steps in the first response doesn't resolve the issue, then as advised, set up for a repair.
