My Xbox one x is detecting double nat type

this issue before we look into getting an open NAT type. An open NAT type will not be possible while the double NAT error persists. Be sure to let us know the results!

Thank you for coming to the Xbox forums, I'd be happy to help.

A double NAT is usually the result of having two devices giving a WIFI signal and therefore the Xbox will detect two different NAT types. What are your network hardware devices and do you by any chance have a router and a gateway? This could give off the
double NAT type. I recommend taking a look at "Double NAT detected in your network settings" and make sure your network hardware is set up
correctly.

If it can't get a DHCP lease (I assume you mean DHCP instead of DHP), then there is an issue with the console being unable to connect to your router which hands out local IP addresses.

As for the Double NAT, you don't say which provider you use. But some providers are running out of IPv4 addresses, and therefore "hide" multiple of their customers behind a giant router in their data center (similar to how your home router "hides" all your
different devices behind one single internet connection).

So you have NAT in your router and NAT on your ISP's data center, causing a double NAT.

You can check if that's the case if you log into your router configuration and take a note of the public WAN IP your router is getting from your ISP.

Then go to a service like https://www.whatismyip.com/ and compare the IP address shown there with your IP from your router.

If these are different, you have a double NAT and need to contact your ISP if they are able and willing to give you a real public IPv4 address (not to be confused with a static IP address, you don't need that).
