    My xbox one x has slow download


    Hi all,

    I just upgraded to an xbox one x white yesterday and am struggling with the download speed.

    I usually get between 30-50mbps download but am ranging between 1 - 20 (unfortunately its normally at the low end).

    My old xbox was fine and usually sustained the download speed so am unsure why the xbox one x wont.

    I am on BT fiber optic, using wireless connection, I was the only one using the wifi at the time of the test.

    Unfortunately I doubt it, the only change has been my xbox one to xbox one x and now it is taking 4 hours to download one game when nothing is running.

    All IP details etc are the same

    Maybe it's the covid situation that streess the line...also check that you are not play any game because when you play a game the download speed is reduced.

    Thanks for reaching out to the forums for advice on how to deal with this issue. I can totally understand how this could throw anyone off and is unusual for sure. If you haven't already, I suggest trying a

    soft factory reset     (the kind that keeps your games and apps.). If that does not do the trick I would next recommend following the steps outlined in Troubleshoot
    slow game or app downloads on Xbox One    .

    When you get the chance, give that a shot and let us know if that helped.

    Very slow downloads on my Xbox X

    Are you over WiFi or Ethernet? I suggest the latter, as 4K content downloads are quite big, and Ethernet is the most reliable way to connect your Xbox to the internet.

    If you are currently streaming, like on Mixer (for example), background downloads would be slowed significantly.

    Ethernet.

    My friend has same router, Netgear R7000 and same ISP as me, and his downloads are even faster now with his X. I must be missing a step.
