    My Xbox one won't read any discs and makes a cycling noise then does nothing


    I've had this Xbox one since the Christmas it came out and it's been working fine up until recently when I tried to play fallout new Vegas, I put the disc in and it makes a tiny winding/ disc spinning noise then makes one quiet beep then does nothing and
    there's no error code and the Xbox doesn't even say there is a disc in it, I would include audio of what it sounds like but I don't know if I can do that here

    Had this myself in the past.Sounds like your disc drive has given up.

    Your only options are to send it to Microsoft for repair which will cost as your warranty would of expired by now,or buy a new console which would probably be the best option as a xbox one s wouldn't cost that much more than getting it repaired and you'd
    have a new console with a full warranty.

    Option 3 would be to re buy any games you play digitally but that could work out expensive.

    There are some troubleshooting tips you could try
    HERE     but from what you've described I doubt they'll work,worth a try though.

    Does it work in a friends Xbox? Does the Xbox read the disc and show the name? Does the Xbox make noises while spinning the disc?

    I just tried to use a couple discs on my xbox one COD bundle and nothing is reading . It makes a slight whirring noise but its not scratching the discs or anything. Crazy to have problems on day 3 of owning the system.
