My XBOX One won't come on from instant on mode every couple of days....

Ok, this is going to sound like a rant a bit because I am super distressed and bummed about this after having 5 xbox's replaced and 7, yes I said 7 360's break on me....I have a day one edition of xb1 with kinect being used since day one. I run my tv through
the unit as well. About 6 months in I noticed the console wouldn't turn on with my voice one day. I did the, hold the power button for 10 secs and reset it, then it was fine. I have always had it set to instant on as I thought one of the coolest features was
turning on and off with voice (that and kinect isn't good for much else currently really). I used to get updates in teh background but then about 3 mos ago I started seeing it not come back in from instant on with voice, controller or normal power button power
on, then after hard reset it would say time to update! I have setting checked for doing updates in the background as well. It continued all summer long and then last week I came home from a week vacation out of town and the xbox wouldn't come back on from
instant on mode. So I did a hard reset, did the update and then reset to factory defaults. That seemed to go way too fast only took about 10 minutes and then the xbox said I was current as well on updates. It behaved fine until the update yesterday and then
it wouldn't wake up, had to do hard reset and then it did the update although it was creeping along so I rebooted and started it over again and then it went fairly quick.

I also at times can't get tv to start, get the tv took too long to start error message and have to hard reset to get tv to work again.

So my question is, what is the deal with the coolest feature of the console not working anymore? I don't really want to mess with calling support as I am not really interested in getting someone else's refurbed broken unit sent to me, I have been down that
road 11 times between xbox and xbox 360. Small tangent...I got invited to the 360 launch party in palm desert, best buy setup a store there to sell 360's, I stayed up for 3 straight days with no sleep, got my 360 with best buy prod replacement, literally carried
it home like a baby on the plane as I was afraid it would be broken after having 4 xbox's with broken dvd drives on them, 5th one worked finally. I get the 360 home I unbox, plug it in and.....red ring of death for you sir! Of course Best Buy wouldn't honor
my replacement either since the item was new and they needed to get 400.00 out of as many people as possible before Christmas, so I got a refund and then found another at a target, which lasted 2 months, then red ring, then so on and so forth....ok end of
rant.

Please don't anyone take this the wrong way because I truly gravitate towards xbox, as evidenced by my gamerscore and live membership time, I am not here to trash MS or XBOX, but I really feel like a customer who has just gotten the shaft over and over and
now I went and jumped through hoops to get a day one edition last year and here I am not a year in and it doesn't work right either. My first 360 was broken day one right out of the box so I am ahead of that game, but this is just frustrating and I just on
principle am not buying another Xbox One. MS gets no more of my money for products that don't work. I coincidentally bought a PS4 in February and that thing updates as it should I always put it in standby and have yet to have even a hiccup...it even downloads
games on wifi about 5 times faster than my xbox does....which bums me out because I TRULY like xbox better, but I got destiny on ps4 as I was afraid putting long hours into it would kill my xbox one.

Is there anything I can do to get this thing to work like it's supposed to? I am not trying to just be ***, but I have given MS a ton of my money and devotion for xbox and I don't feel like the love is being returned to me at all. No one has told me to get
bent, but the support process was pretty painful for xbox360 and even the original xbox, so I don't want to even really mess with it if all I am going to get is someone else's broken unit that has been repaired or refurbed....that isn't right either, not for
me at this point anyway.

Any thoughts? Tips? Anyone else experiencing this? I looked through 7 pages of forum posts and didn't see anything similar, which is encouraging that maybe it isn't widespread.....please help

My Xbox one controller won't turn on the console after a few day without turning on the system

I'd like to add that I'm having the EXACT same issue described by PlayerXXX, where the console won't stay in "instant on" mode. Like every couple days, it automatically shuts down completely and turning it on does a cold reboot.

I've had my xbox one for about 7 months and this wasn't an issue before, so it's not my power setup.

 

Xbox one keeps changing powering up setting.

Every few days my Xbox with change itself from instant on to energy saving mode, however the moment I switch it on manually it's back to instant on. Is this a problem anyone has occurred? Is it my console thats at fault or my PSU unit? I can tell it's changed
because the light bar on the PSU has changed from white to amber.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Has anyone else experienced this? Was it precursor to your xbox dying on you? Or should I just forget about using instant on and do the energy saver way? I set it to that last night when I powered down for the night,
but I really prefer the instant on method, I liked it when updates installed in the background so when I was ready to play I could actually play a game instead of watching a progress bar....

I didn't mean to sound snarky in my original post, I am just really frustrated about this. Part of me says I should have stopped buying the console years ago and just cut my losses, but I really WANT it all to work like it's advertised, so I keep coming
back hoping I guess.

First of, sorry to hear that you have had so much trouble with your xboxes.. I've been a xbox gamer ever since I bought the original Xbox as an early adopter when it launched in Norway.. and own one Original Xbox, Three 360's and two One's one import an

ad a major issue with any of them.. only got three 360 (one of them a launch console) to avoid dragging them about..

I did experience the problem of bringing the xbox one on in instant on mode two times this week.. but after i did a hard reset (holding the power button on the 'one' for 10 seconds) and so far aftet that it has worked as i should again.. did not need to
reset/reinstall the console..

One thing I can note is, when I experienced this issue then aside from the voice command not working neither did the Xbox One respond to me turning on the controller as it normally would do.. it only responded to me touchibg the power button on the console
itself.. but so far the hard reset has solved the problem on my part..

 

So really nobody else is having this problem continue on them? I have switched to energy saving mode, which works everytime I turn it on, however I have to update just like when instant on mode is broken. I know that energy saving mode is supposed to work
that way, I was just hoping that this had a real fix for it other than to not use the coolest feature of the console.
