My xbox one will only read certain discs...

Help! My xbox one stopped read blu rays and will only play certain games. It reads dvds no problem. Ive tried turning off instant on clearing the persistent storage and plugging my console directly into a socket as opposed to a power strip. Still nothing.
Id say the disc drive was shot but some of my games work no problem. I am part of the xbox one preview program so im not sure if thats a factor

Surely if the laser was overused then surely no games would work? It is always kept well ventilated area. I just think its disgusting how they still manage to squeeze money out of you for any little thing.

I understand that, but after spending a ridiculous amount of money on my xbox i expect it to work for longer than a year. But £74 for it to be fixed is ridiculous.

Very sorry to hear about the issue. Have Xbox One discs stopped reading as well? If your Xbox One console isn't able to read to Blu-ray's and Xbox One discs, but can read DVDs and Xbox 360 discs (that are backward compatible with the Xbox One), that may
indicate a hardware issue. If you're able to test different types of discs and report your finding back here, we'll be able to determine what next steps should be.

I definitely encourage you to report this along with any issues you encounter while in the Xbox Insider program too! Additionally, we do have our Xbox Insider forums you can check in with as well.

It wil read dvds and some of my xbox one games. Blu rays wont play at all. Sometimes it takes few tries of putting the disc in and taking it out but eventually it works or atleast it used to. I inserted titanfall 2 and it started right up. Ill try an xbox
360 game in the morning. I can hear the disc drive trying to read to the disc but eventually it stops. Ill report my issue to the insider club as well. Hurry up with the scorpio already and i wont have this issue
