    My xbox one thinks I don't have xbox live gold half the time.


    So the only problem I have experienced with my xbox one is that sometimes when I turn it on it will log me in like normal, I'll be able to see the xbox store, my online friends and everything, but then when I try to open netflix or start a party it will
    tell me I need xbox live gold. And other times when I turn the console on it will fail to sign me in and say I'm not connected to the internet, but the connection will test fine. I'm not sure if it's a problem with my router, because usually when I reset the
    router, it fixed the problems, but not always. Though no other devices (including my 360) have ever had problems like this on the router. There's probably about a 50/50 chance of everything working smoothly when I turn my console on.

    Am I the only one that this happens to?

    If anyone has any helpful info, that would be greatly appreciated.

    Same here, started today. Strange enough, I can still play Max and Halo that came free with the gold membership, which was paid for ten days ago, but going to the store etc. offers me to "Join Gold".

    Checking on commerce.microsoft.com I noticed that I have one account, but two billing profiles (need to cheat a little because the One is still not available in Switzerland).

    Logging in on account.xbox.com shows no Gold membership either, but I know it's there, and it still was yesterday. Additionally, the credit card that is only added to the correct profile shows as payment option on account.xbox.com, so the data seems to be
    around...

    Any clues? I've been googling around for a way to delete the wrong billing profile, but haven't found anything.

    Please give the following steps a try:



    • Go to accounts.live.com to
      verify that all your billing information is correct. You can also check the status of your membership there as well.
    • If after verifying your information you are still being asked to join Gold, I recommend contacting Phone Support from our contact us page.
    Please let us know if your you are still asked to join Gold after trying the suggested steps.

  5. Same thing here with my Xbox One. Tried looking at Netflix last night and kept popping up that "It looks like you need Gold for this" and says underneath "Looks like your ready" and hit continue but just keeps going back to the same page. Must be something
    that hopefully will be addressed in the next update.

    So I was out of town for three days for work. When I got home last night, I was getting this message. I finally gave up and decided to sleep on it. Sure enough, problem still happening and I was getting furious, especially reading that tech support has
    been of no help to some people.

    I logged on to my microsoft account on my computer and it showed that my 'gold' had just renewed on 2/25 (the day I left town). This was the first auto-renewal on my xbox one. So I figured "screw it I'll just renew it again" and boom, I stopped getting
    the message.

    I checked my bank account, and the auto renewal on 2/25 had never charged me. Apparently the auto renew just *** up? At any rate, my gold is working again now. Hopefully this helps some others as well.

    agh this has just started with me today.

    Can't renew as it reports an error, can't use a free 48 hour card.

    Nothing.

    You went online to account.xbox.com and tried it? Mine would not let me purchase on my xbox, it would tell me I already had it. When I went to the website, it even showed that my card had been charged, but it had not actually charged it.

    I'm not sure what else to try if that doesn't fix it, I was hoping I had solved it... Good luck

    this has happened to me a few times now. I have been charged for renewal in January and most of the time I can connect to gold fine but other times like today I cant do anything that needs gold. Microsoft need to sort their lives out

    Well, glad to see that I'm not the only one running into this issue. I just spent over an hour with support trying to reconcile the issue, to no avail - not only could they not solve the problem, the customer service was undeniably the worst I've ever encountered
    dealing with any consumer outlet.

    I am taking the console and the 8 games purchased back to the store today, returning it all and going back to Sony - there's a reason Sony and Apple thrive - clearly.

    If anyone out there is considering purchasing any Microsoft products, I'd really think twice about it! Definitively, you'll wished you hadn't, sooner or later.

    same damn thing is happing to me!!! i literally just played 2 days ago and now its saying i don't have gold membership when i purchased it jan 1, 2014 and had just played. this is pissing me off sooooo much.

    Just happened to me, I contacted Microsoft customer care and they checked my subscriptions and realized the error. Long story short they canceled my current subscription and emailed me a new code to replace my 12month subscription!! Which is why xbox simply
    rules!!!!!
