My Xbox ONE still crashes after repair.

I send my console to the Microsoft repair service last week and got it back today, but it still crashes after a few minutes of playing games with more power required, for example Forza 6 or Battlefield4. What should I do now?

It wouldn't be the power brick if it's just one game, unless the game is requesting the APU to run at a very high clock rate and the brick can't supply that wattage. I don't think games have that kind of control on the APU, so I suspect you have a corrupted
game install... Somehow. Or the game is leaking memory, but then more people than just you would be having the same issue. I see you've already tried redownloading the game; my next suggestion would be to, if you have the equipment to do so,

Failing that, see if you can "trick" your Xbox One into moving the game further on the hard drive. Uninstall Thief, install some free apps or different games in the freed up space, and reinstall Thief. If you notice whatever you installed in that freed up
space is crashing but Thief isn't, you have a hard drive problem.

I have a strange and frustrating problem with Thief crashing.

I bought Thief digitally when the game came out. No matter how many times I tried, the game crashed and caused Xbox One to reboot completely after a few minutes of gameplay. I tried redownloading and reinstalling a number of times with the method recommended
on forums (shutting the console down, unplug for 30 seconds, boot, and reinstall). I even tried deleting the cache as somebody was suggesting. Furthermore, I moved the console to an open area to see if it was caused by overheating but no dice. Finally, I wiped
everything by resetting the console to factory default. Thief still crashed after a few minutes into the campaign at seemingly random places. It was definitely tied to any one action or place.

Because I had other issues with the console (bad disc drive and the display output started getting dim and failing), I decided to send my Xbox One to repair. It finally came back after about 3 weeks today and the first thing I did after setting up was download
Thief. And to my surprize, exactly same issue happened again. The game froze and the console rebooted while I was looting the very first room in the game.

My understanding was that the console I get back from repair isn't what I sent in. I'm not 100% on this though.

I'm quite frustrated as, one, I've wasted $60 on a game that I've only seen the first few minutes of, and two, repair service did not fix my problem, which was not being able to play a game on a video game console. I also had to wait quite a while to get
it back only to find out it's still not working.

No other games have this problem whether it came on a disc or was downloaded. I don't have anything hooked up to my console except Kinect, network cable, HDMI out, power cable, and the official Xbox USB cable for the controller.

Could it possibly be the power brick? Does anybody have any other suggestions? Thank you.

How do you have the console connected to the mains? Is it via a power strip/adaptor or directly into the mains?

Thanks for your message. Have you tried any other power outlets in your property?

Other than an issue with the mains, I'm not sure what the issue is. Possibily an issue with the mains? An electrician may be required to test this. If there is a problem with the mains connection, this could have also damaged your replacement console too.

Note also that it is highly recommended that your console is only connected directly to the mains, and that no surge protection is present - surge protection can cause serious instability issues.
