    My Xbox one stereo headset adapter seems to have broken and I was hoping someone might have...


    Don't really know where else to go so I'm going to put it here.

    I'm currently using the Xbox one stereo headset adapter and it seems to have at least partially malfunctioned I still get party audio and can still talk while using it and when I max out the volume I still get the little beep.

    But I'm not getting any audio at all from the Xbox itself no gameplay no sounds while navigating menus nothing.

    and I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions cuz most things I've seen otherwise haven't done anything my controller is up to date to my knowledge.

    If it helps at all this has happened to me before and it automatically fixed itself at some point or something I might have done may have accidentally fixed it.

    Hi Zathrus,

    We have two of the
    Xbox Stereo Headset     with Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter, and both sets have worked well with no problems for sometime now. And I have used the
    adapter with non-Microsoft headset with no issues. So, given that you say your "3.5 mm cabled headset " works directly connected to the controller, then I regret to say it would seem that the fault lies with the adapter itself and may need to be replace.

    My urBeats3 make a screeching noise when plugged directly into a controller and through an adaptor, they make a screeching noise for other people through the mic

    Sorry to hear you're having issues. Here is the troubleshooting
    page     for issues with the Xbox One stereo adaptor. Sounds like yours might be going bad.

    Xbox one original controller, stereo headset adapter and headset and I can hear in game chat but as soon as I connect to party chat, they can hear me but I cannot hear them. I tried the original headset that comes with the xbox one and it worked so I figured
    it was the stereo adapter. so I purchased a new stereo adapter and have the same issue. so I purchased a new controller with 3.5mm jack. I have the same issue. but if I use my headset connected to the 3.5mm jack on the new controller party chat works fine,
    but doesn't work connected to stereo adapter (and I tried 2) So I thought I would try on my sons xbox one (we have 2 xbox ones in the house) so we swapped headsets , controllers and stereo adapters and I had the same problem on my xbox one. whereas his was
    working fine (and he was using my controller, headset and adapter) So it would seem to be an issue with my console, that is the only hardware difference. any ideas?
