my xbox one s is stuck at 640*480 resolution

Xbox One S stuck on 640x480 (480p) Resolution (in monitor)

I have the same problem. Following the steps mentioned in help section didnt change anything. Mine is a brand new xbox one S. After a couple of days its just stuck at 640x480.

Try the following:

Remove any disc from your console, if necessary, then hold the power button on the console to completely shut the console down.

Now hold down the eject button, and hold the power button. The console will chime as soon as you press the power button as usual, but keep holding Eject and Power button, until the console chimes a second time.

This will force the console to reset it's resolution settings to a rescue resolution.

Now try going to the console's video settings and set the resolution according to these instructions:

You were spot on, it was the standby mode that messed it up. Turned the tv on off at the mains and it works fine.

It has to be your tv as that might be the problem mine only allows 740p
