My Xbox one s has frozen while doing a system update

It sounds like you may have to try doing an Offline System Update, aka OSU1. Go to the webpage “I need help with system updates on my Xbox One” and click
on "I NEED TO UPDATE MY CONSOLE OFFLINE". Follow the step-by-step guide to do a complete system update. It's the closest thing to out-of-the-box new. Xbox Ambassador Scrtch has a very good YouTube video on how to do an OUS1 at Scratch Plays. Just search for
"Fix Xbox Stuck on Green Loading Screen". However, there still maybe one issue here. To start the OSU1 update, the Xbox One "Troubleshoot" screen needs to work, i.e. not frozen.

Given it started after a firmware update, then it's likely the update caused it...sometimes updates have unintended consequences and it's possible that it has disrupted the ability to use the new Series X/S controllers on older XBox One systems. If that's the case, they will hopefully fix it with another update, though it may be a while

Bonzi . I'm afraid that your in the same boat as me and your Xbox one is bricked and don't expect any help from the minions at Microsoft absolutely disgusting the way we have been treated

So because the console was frozen for roughly 2 hours, I had no choice but to power down and restart. At the first restart I got only a black screen, so I did a power cycle as a last hope. Sadly, I was met with the green loading screen at start up and that
seems to be a dead end for me. Have to say I'm very disappointed that a product would completely fail after only a year and a half of usage maybe two or three times a week.

Has anyone found a solution to this problem yet...?

On Saturday I bought Forza Horizon 2 and put my Xbox online for the first time in ages.

It prompted me to download the update. After doing so it stood stuck on the "applying update" screen for over an hour. So I went to work and left the system running. When I got home and turned it on, the system was stuck on the green loading screen.

Sunday morning I googled Everything in the world and figured out the steps for USB diagnosistic tool.

I tried them all perfectly and they all stopped on the same spot: the "Applying Update" screen.

So I decided to just factory reset the whole system. Guess what? That doesn't work either.

Called customer service and they told me it was faulty hardware. But its not. It was the update.

On Friday night alone I played Devil May Cry and Mortal Kombat X all night perfectly.

On Saturday afternoon I played Forza for two whole hours with absolutely no problems until I tried to go online to buy a car pack and was prompted to update.

This is crap. With everything I've been reading online, it really does seem like Microsoft is extorting us.

And is anyone even monitoring these forums. It seems like they just press a button and give everyone the same response ( Mr. Quimby ) just like customer service reads off the script. Everytime i call, someone new tells me the EXACT same line: " I understand
how you are feeling. I too feel frustrated when this happens. Lets see what we can do to help:... you know what would help? stop repeating the same lines. Let me speak to someone in charge who knows what they are talking about. Because as much as anyone wants
me to believe that i broke my own Xbox One, i didn't. All i did was apply a mandatory update that i was forced to download. This isn't good business, and i wholeheartedly wish i would have purchased a Playstation 4 when i had the chance.

Is there anyone real we can talk to?
