My xbox one s controller sound suddenly stopped working.

Hello. Last night i was playing xbox with my new controller i bought a couple months ago. This morning i then woke up to discover that no sound will come from the controller when i plug my headset in. I tested my headset to make sure it wasnt the issue
with my other controller, and the sound worked just fine. Now i knew it was a controller issue. I contacted microsoft and they replied saying that a controller update that was recently released caused this issue for a small percentage of controllers. They
then told me that a fix update would be released in early June. Has this happened to anyone else?

No i havent but when i checked for updates right now, it said it was up to date.

Thanks for your post. I understand that your controller's 3.5mm jack is no longer recognizing your headset and not playing sound. Try checking out this article to troubleshoot your controller:

Xbox One Controller Troubleshooting. Usually issues like the one you've described would indicate that the controller is in need of replacement due to damage made to the 3.5mm jack.

I have not had any issues with my controller since i got my console. Bought the One X at my local launch.

Have you updated your controller after you bought it?

I did have this happen to me with one of my controllers. The 3.5mm jack was stripped so the connection was no longer good. Not saying that this is the exact same issue you are having, however that was what happened with mine.
