my xbox one restarts when i type in the wifi password

when i enter the wifi password to my xbox one, it automatically restarts and i cant connect to xbox live

Xbox One Wifi - Need Help connecting

I have my Xbox One in my room and the WiFi we use is Optimum Online (for those who don't know its like Fios, Time Warner Cable, Comcast, Etc) so normally when you connect you need to login normally thru a window to type in the login username and password. On the PS4 it connects then i sign in thru the Internet Browser but Xbox doesn't allow me to do it.

How Do i sign in and connect with the Optimum WiFi on my Xbox One or what exactly do I need to do?

Xbox One restarts after I type in wifi password please help!

Press and hold the power button on your Xbox One console until it has fully powered down.

Unplug the power cable from your Xbox One.

Unplug the power from your router and modem for 15 seconds, and then plug back in.

Hop back over to your Xbox One console and plug it back in to try this again.

If the issue persists after that, the next step I recommend is Factory Restoring your Xbox One (select 'Reset and keep my games & apps').

If this doesn't solve the issue try wiring it in and see if it does it, if it doesn't then try changing the wireless settings on your router.

Sounds like your router is using a security/encryption feature that the Xbox One does not support.

You will need to configure your router to use a different wireless encryption method. I suggest "WPA2-PSK (AES)". Consult your router documentation to know how to access the settings. You may need to relog all wireless devices back into your network after
changing the encryption method.

when i type my wireless wifi password into my xbox it says can't connect to your wireless network i restarted my router and still dosn't work also whenever it does work my wifi always diconects while i'm playing games and is starting to get annoying if
there are any ideas on what i have to do to fix my problem please tell me.

This is because of Time Warners Firmware to there customers modems its likely you have Time Warner Cable, please select Eggs link above for the fix it requires you to make adjustments to your modem/router
