    My xbox one randomly turns on


    I was just sitting on my bed looking at my laptop when all of a sudden my xbox one just turns on automatically and my controllers where nowhere near me at all. is there a way to stop this/ keep it from happening again?

    My xbox one continues to turn on randomly in the middle of the night

    Randomly throughout the day my xbox one will turn on. It mainly happens during the night though.

    Thanks for clarifying! It's most likely your console is downloading an update to a game or to the console itself. If you want to stop this from happening, you'll want to put your console into energy saving mode. My xbox one randomly turns on :)

    My girlfriends xbox one will randomly turn on at times. Does not turn off -at least not yet. But that sounds frustrating i'm sorry. I am interested in what might cause this.

    Is your Xbox connected to a surge protector or power strip? Those are known to cause little electrical issues like randomly turning on.

    Ideally, the Xbox should be plugged directly into the wall for power, as the power supply has its own built-in surge protection anyway.

    It is connected to a power strip. But it always has been so why would it start acting up this year? Would that mean my power strip is going bad?

    I'll try plugging it in directly and see how it goes. Thanks!
