My xbox one will only display black after the most recent update

After turning it on, a message with pop up to welcome me occasionally with my profile name but it does not display my profile picture as it normally does. If I hold down the xbox button i get a menu to turn off or reboot the console, I have tried the following methods to attempt to fix it,

Turning the console off and back on,

Trying to navigate to a different menu with the shoulder buttons,

Holding down the triggers and the y button at the same time,

Resetting the console with the eject and power button, as well as with the eject, power, and Y button.

None of these have worked so far.

Any ideas?

This is happening to me too. My Xbox just constantly shows a black screen and I’ve tried doing everything you’ve mentioned. I’ve actually got a spare Xbox one from my family and I plugged that in, it asked for an update and once it had updated it was nothing but black screen!

Any further help on this issue would be appreciated.

Mine also. I have tried everything listed but I simply cannot access the troubleshoot menu or I'd do a factory reset real quick lol.

After the recent April update my XBOX ONE S is no longer displaying colors correctly for any HDR content.

Press and hold the sync button (on the left side of xbox) and the eject button (on the front) and tap the power button once while holding sync and eject. Wait until you hear the second beep to release the sync and eject. This will take you to the factory reset screen then click reset to factory settings. There is an option to either reset and keep all games and apps or reset fully to original factory settings. Hope this helps!
