My Xbox One Only Displays 640x480 and Has No Sound

I was going to use my Xbox One after having a short a break from it, but after turning it on, the screen resolution was very low. 640x480 to be exact. I also discovered it was mute and if I turned up my sound, I could only hear static. I've already switched
the HDMI cable and port, nothing happnened. I've also restarted the console several times to no result. I tried going to the display settings, but the 640x480 was the only option. Help would be appreciated, thanks.

    :)

  2. My One only works in 640x480

Have you tried different HDMI cables or different HDMI inputs in the TV?

My One only works in 640x480

    Hello,

It's been 4 months and I'm still trying to fix my problem. When i'm connecting my console with an HMDI cable it shows a weird blinking screen with orange lines everywhere. I couldn't even try to fix it directly since it is blinking every second. I tried
everything and the only "solution" I found is to buy an RCA-HDMI adapter so my console would at least stop blinking....

Anyway playing in 640x480 is impossible.....

I would really appreciate if you guys could help me solve this frustrating problem.

    Thanks a lot.

    Stuck in 640x480

Same issue. Support chat did nothing for me. Xbox One X here. Maybe try a display reset but it automatically resets you in 640x480 witch is the only way I get visual now.

    Problem displaying in 1080p resolution

I can change the resolution out of 640x480 but if I choose 720p, 1440p or 1080p the green screen start again.

I tried using another device (laptop, xbox 360) with the same HDMI cable and they are displayed in 1080p perfectly. As soon as I reconnect the HDMI cable on my xbox one the screen shrinks in 640x480

xbox one 640x480 only option on resolution under settings

OK so first thing How do you have your console going to your TV through HDMI? DVI?

If HDMI go into settings go down to display and sound go to video output which is probably where you are seeing the 640X480 setting under display then go over to video fidelity & overscan on that page you want to make sure under display it is showing auto
detect or HDMI if showing HDMI then on the previous screen you should be able to set the display resolution to something other then 640X480

Changing resolution - screen now blank

    I found a temporary fix. Here's how:

At your home screen click on "My games and apps"

After make your way to "settings"

In settings click on "display & sound"

In display & sound, change tv connection from "detect" to "hdmi"

Once this is done, there will be an option in tv resolution to change from 640x480 to 1080p.

I hope this helps. It worked for me.

    Cheers.

My Xbox One is stuck in 640x480 display

My One X would that from time to time...I'd turn it on and it would be stuck in that resolution and not recognising that my TV was 4k. For me, all it took was unplugging the HDMI cable from the Xbox (unplugging from the TV made no difference), then plugging it back in again.
