My xbox one keeps restarting!

I've read the other topics about this restarting issue but my problem is unlike those others in that I am not experiencing the issue while playing any games. My system just keeps restarting, going ino the home page, freezing, then restarting again. I can't
even make it into "settings" to reset the system to factory default or connect to my router which it seems this system requires to do any settings changes. What are my options?!?

From the answers you provided, it looks like your hard drive is on the way out. I would suggest looking into getting a new hard drive for your system.

Fortunately, it looks like you might be able to
use the Xbox 360 hard drive transfer cable to transfer your data to a new hard drive.

This issue often is caused by corrupted data in the console which prevents the home screen from loading correctly, this can often be fixed by a factory restore. Now as you can't actually access the settings to do this there is a way to restore to factory
defaults using a USB flash drive.

If you visit the offline system diagnostic support page you can download the Restore Factory Defaults file:

support.xbox.com/.../offline-system-update-diagnostic-tool

Read through the process of formatting the flash drive etc thoroughly and follow the instructions as if you were doing a system update but using the file you downloaded you may find that your console will then boot correctly.

I tried to apply the fix you suggested but my xbox keeps restarting when I try to connect to my network. I get to 77% when it asks me to set up my network. I enter my network password, then the system goes back to 35% and does everything all over again.
Is my problem more severe?

 

Could it be because I'm trying to keep my games and apps?

 

I tried the remove everything option but am experiencing the same issue. Btw, the wireless controllers make this operation such a pain.

 

Having the same issue here. Tried the offline system update with the USB etc. and only heard one of the power up tones with no luck of getting the second one. Then I tried restarting but keeping games and it keeps restarting.

 

My Xbox one is continuously restarting after initial startup of console. It will load to home screen and allow me to have about 1-2 mins. of navigation but eventually restarts and continues to do so after multiple attempts at trying to figure out what the
problem was. It's pretty consistent with how long it allows me to navigate home screen and settings before it decides to resart again. Last I used my xbox was about 3-4 days ago and it had to do a system update. Didn't use it much after the update was complete.
Just browsed around for a bit and decided to call it a night. Last night, turned it on and it said my network was not connected. So tried to connect to my wifi and when entering my wifi password it shuts off and restarts. Every attempt after has failed as
well. Read through the forums and did a few things to it to see it would work but nothing still. Bought this xbox one about 2 months ago. I'm a casual gamer so the machine has been used on a once or twice a week basis. This problem seems to be pretty common
so figure post to this forum to see whats comes of it before going the next step and making a claim with the protection services I purchased along with my xbox. Apologies for the long story...figured detail helps when wanying to resolve an issue. Thanks for

Can any of you having this issue try connecting via a wired connection to see if you still see the same issue? Or post back if you are wired and still experiencing it.

So I went ahead and took Genesis1953's advice and connected to a wired connection. Low and behold...It works! My xbox one does not restart. I tried connecting to my wireless connection while still connected thru the wired but unfortunately as soon as I got
to the step of disconnecting the wire my xbox restarted. Any answers as to why my wireless connection is causing my xbox to react this way? It just sucks that now I'm not able to use the wireless connect option. But a big Thanks to you Genesis1953 for the

I'm having this same problem. My Xbox one keeps restarting and I've checked all of my power cables and they all seem to be working fine. It seems to be related to the wifi as well but I don't have a way to get an Ethernet cord from my router to my Xbox.
Has anyone managed to find a solution that doesn't include wiring the Xbox?

 

Update: So I decided to do a system reset (saving my games and apps option) since the wired connection got me past my home screen for once. By doing so I hoped that it would restore factory settings and allow me to connect to my wifi. Hope? Nope! It ended
up restarting immediately after entering my wifi password. Then I thought back to my first post and realized that technically the problem started after microsofts lastest xbox update. The same update my system updated to while reseting my system. Which I'd
like to come to the conclusion that this is a system update issue. Is it a coincidence that they are currently working on fixing a Xbox Live service problem? Perhaps? Hmmm??
