My xbox one keeps on doing the same update.

Firstly I am using the original Xbox, not the xbox one x or s. Secondly, I do not know if I am enrolled in the Xbox insider program and do not know how to check. Thirdly, I do not get any error codes or messages in the loop.

Fourthly, I do not have any external storage units plugged into the console. And Lastly I have not tried anything but search on google and keep on trying to update.

It sounds like the update may have been corrupted somehow. What I would suggest is to do a factory reset on the console. There's an option to keep installed games and apps so you won't have to redownload them and your saves will be safe on the Cloud.

That should fix the issue.

Thank you for all your help. But as well as I know same as you. When Microsoft update the Xbox One/Series. It ends up breaking the Xbox 360.

I do wish Microsoft would do one last update to the 360. To keep it updated with the Xbox One.

We are having the same problem with xbox one x, wont do the initial setup update, error code keeps changing as well
