    My Xbox one keeps itself turning on. How to fix it?


    I am noticing that after last update (I think it was a week back), my Xbox keeps on turning itself on. This never happened before. I see only console lights on sometimes while I am watching TV and Xbox decodes to turn on. Sometimes when I wake up, I see
    that Xbox has turned itself on. The frequency is like once in couple of days. Pls advise.

    Hey there!

    Is your console currently set to instant-on or or energy-saver mode? If you're not sure, you can check and then switch your console to

    energy-saver mode     here. If that doesn't help, you may want to consider doing a
    factory reset of your console (while you keep your games and apps!) to see if that does the trick.

    Let us know. My Xbox one keeps itself turning on. How to fix it? :)

    My XBOX ONE keeps turning on by itself.

    A common reason why the console would turn itself on is due to it possibly being plugged into a surge protector or power strip.

    The Xbox One has its own surge protection built into its power supply, and plugging it into another one might cause minor electrical issues such as turning itself on.

    Ensure the Xbox is plugged directly into the wall outlet.

    me too. Don't play it for months at a time then boom ten minutes ago 1145am just popped on randomly while watching Hulu on PlayStation. Been happening for years. I just gave up and let it run now till it auto offs lol.
